This car burst, or exploded unfortunately onto the British market in the early 80's. Cheap, and to many people an easily affordable car to buy, and run brand new it was extremely basic. It was based off an old Fiat design and was popular with Taxi drivers who always seem to be looking for the cheapest vehicle to use.

Lada Samara
via Douglas
Building on the success of the Riva, Lada introduced what appeared to be a wholly indigenous design. Usually available in tacky colours seen in 70's living room furniture like bright orange or dirty tan, the Samara apparently was very tacky inside. Even the console felt wrong and the driving experience was horrible.
